FALL 2010 SCHEDULE FOR "ONE DESTINY" AND HISTORY ON FOOT WALKING TOURS ANNOUNCED

Washington, D.C.—The Ford’s Theatre Society announced that its programming schedule for fall 2010 will include daytime performances of the one-act play One Destiny by Richard Hellesen (October 12-30, 2010) and a continuation of the popular History on Foot walking tours, Investigation: Detective McDevitt and A Free Black Woman: Elizabeth Keckly (September-October 2010).

ABRAHAM LINCOLN'S OVERCOAT TO ENTER CONSERVATION STORAGE JUNE 30, 2010

Washington, D.C.—The National Park Service and Ford’s Theatre Society announced that Abraham Lincoln’s wool overcoat, currently on display in the Ford’s Theatre lobby, will be replaced by its replica on June 30, 2010. Following several months in conservation storage, the original Brooks Brothers coat will return to the Ford’s Theatre lobby in February 2011 where it will remain on display until June 2011.

NATIONAL PARK SERVICE AND FORD’S THEATRE SOCIETY TO HOST PUBLIC HEARING JUNE 28, 5-6 p.m.

Washington, D.C.—The National Park Service (NPS) and Ford’s Theatre Society will host a public hearing to discuss a proposed increase in the convenience fee for advance individual reservations to Ford’s Theatre National Historic Site from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, June 28, at Ford’s Theatre, located at 511 10th Street, N.W.  All patrons and members of the public are invited to attend to comment or ask questions about the proposed increase.

PAUL TETREAULT ANNOUNCES THE FORD’S THEATRE 2010-2011 SEASON

Season Includes the World Premiere Musical Liberty Smith

Washington, D.C. – Ford’s Theatre Society Director Paul Tetreault announced the Theatre’s 2010-2011 season, a lineup that includes a classic American romantic comedy, the return of Michael Baron’s celebrated production of A Christmas Carol, a powerful family drama set in the Post-Reconstruction South, and a world premiere musical comedy.  Tickets go on sale to the public August 23, 2010.

NATIONAL PARK SERVICE AND FORD’S THEATRE SOCIETY ANNOUNCE FORD’S THEATRE AND PETERSEN HOUSE CLOSURES IN JUNE 2010

Washington, D.C.—The National Park Service (NPS) and the Ford’s Theatre Society announce that Ford’s Theatre and Museum will be closed to the public from June 1 to 7, 2010, in preparation for the annual Ford’s Theatre Society gala. The Petersen House (the House where President Abraham Lincoln died) will remain open June 1 to 5 but will close to the public on Sunday, June 6, 2010.

The Petersen House will reopen to the public on Monday, June 7, 2010.
