Ticket Services Associates

Ford’s Theatre Society, a location steeped in culture, history, and the performing arts is hiring part-time Ticket Services Associates to join its box office team.

The Ticket Services Associates work as part of the Ticket Services team at Ford’s Theatre to provide a high level of customer service to all staff and patrons as related to ticketing for visitation, programs, and productions. The Ticket Services Associate ensures all patrons are properly ticketed to enter the site as well as make patrons aware of programming, services, amenities, and helps ensure a secure box office and lobby environment.

All Ford’s Theatre Society employees are required to actively participate in the Society’s ongoing efforts to become an anti-racist organization. These efforts include staff-wide conversations, new programming, development of new resources for staff and patrons, and an expectation that all staff will keep themselves informed of new resources and trends in the field of anti-racism and DEAI and how they can be applied to their work on a day-to-day basis.

Responsibilities

  • Works as part of the operations team which also includes Visitor Services, House Management, National Park Service staff, guards and volunteers.
  • Creates and maintains an inclusive, welcoming and service oriented environment.
  • Ensures the Box Office is clean and ready for visitors and follows operating procedures
  • Provides complete and accurate site visitation information to patrons.
  • Processes customer transactions accurately, courteously and efficiently for mainstage performances, daytime advance tickets, audio tour device rentals, guided tours and all other Ford’s Theatre events and services.
  • Answers general questions about the historic site, surrounding area and provides recommendations on other places to visit.
  • Assists patrons with ticketing transactions, including obtaining proper authorization when necessary and noting patron account.
  • Sells, distributes, and receives audio tour devices during daytime visits.
  • Maintains a secure, orderly, and accurate cash bag and prepares batch reports at end of shift.
  • Maintains, and operates in, a secure physical and digital environment for financial transactions, observing all financial control procedures in place.
  • Stays up to date with Managers’ updates on new procedures, ticket promotions, all relevant events, schedules, historic site activities and visitation projects.
  • Follows safety and security protocols and reports out-of-the-ordinary behavior or activities to management.
  • Maintains a friendly, approachable demeanor and prioritizes attention to patrons.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Prior customer service experience; front of house and box office experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Preference will be given to applicants familiar with ticketing software (preferably Tessitura) or CRM database.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Must be comfortable working at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  • Able to work varied scheduled shifts and able to arrive on time and ready to work.
  • Evening, weekend and holiday work required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interest in theatre/museum/performing arts preferred

Salary:

This is an nonexempt position with an hourly rate of $17.51
