2024 – 2025 Season

The 2024-25 season celebrates Ford’s Theatre’s roots as a historic theatre by showcasing President Abraham Lincoln’s life and values culled from his own personal story, and uplifting stories teeming with life. We continue to tell spirited American stories that will capture hearts, inspire empathy and spark reflections on our shared past and future.

Experience a live performance in a historic theatre like no other!

Since its reopening in 1968, Ford’s Theatre has produced plays and musicals celebrating the legacy of Abraham Lincoln and exploring the American experience. With commissions like The Guard and Lincoln-based premieres such as The Heavens Are Hung in Black and Necessary Sacrifices, Ford’s Theatre is making its mark on American theatre.

A Black man wearing a Victorian-era night cap, white nightgown and red house robe and suit holds up a goblet with fervor, as a spirit wearing a lavish Victorian-era green gown and wreath crown gazes with a serious expression.

A Christmas Carol

Originally conceived by Michael Baron, this music-infused production captures the magic and joy of Dickens’s Yuletide classic, with familiar characters, ghosts and a children’s ensemble in the spirit of the holidays.
